2003-2004
Short Program "Anastasia"
Princess Anastasia reminisces about the glorious days of her family's life
in a Russian palace.
The Junior short program has caught everyone's attention with its difficulty
and the softness it is skated with. Last year, the Juniors worked hard to
skate their Tinkerbell free program softly and lightly, so to put all that
practice to good use they are skating to a slow piece for their short.
Perhaps the most difficult kind of slow music; a waltz. The girls practised
a lot twizzles during the spring as well as the softness, lightness and
swing that is needed in a waltz. They were able to skate the program very
well right at the beginning of the season. The whole team has taken yet
another big step forward in their technical skills.
Free Program "Catwoman"
Catwoman puts on her gloves and mask as she prepares for a battle with
Batman. Even she herself doesn't know whether she is good or bad. There will
be a lot of excitement, seduction, sexy curves and battle during the night
in Gotham City.
The free program needed to be a contrast to the short. The girls are able to
hiss and growl and show their aggressive side on the ice. The idea of Batman
and from there the idea of Catwoman came to mind. What a lot of different
characteristics she does show! She's a woman who becomes a cat, but doesn´t
really know if she is good or bad, and has a love-hate relationship with
Batman. So sometimes she purrs like a little kitty, sometimes she shows her
sharp claws and isn't afraid to use them. She has her own special assets and
isn't ashamed to use them to distract Batman and lure him away.
